shensworld:

At one point of our lives we have all done it, whether it was intentional or not. Sometimes automatically, we can’t help ourselves. We see a person and we instantly classify them into a specific category. People have taken judgment to a whole new level, where they gather one outer characteristic and assume they know the person. Then they actually treat the person based on their opinion. Our innate, first impression prejudice immediately acts a barrier between getting to know the real person inside. And that’s where we’re missing out. We exaggerate the differences between one another to make it seem that they are more important than the similarities.
People may call another guy ‘fat’ but no one knows he has a serious disease causing him to be overweight. People might see a 15 year old girl holding hands with her 1 year old son and think she’s a strumpet but what you might not know is that she was assaulted at the age of 14. You might see an old man who is ‘ugly’ but no one knows he experienced a serious injury to his face while fighting for our country in the war.
Everyone in the world has a story, don’t judge them before you know theirs.
